New Energy Internal Battery Open Circuit

To avoid the time-consuming lab test needed for obtaining OCV-SOC curves, this study proposes a data-driven universal method by using operation data collected onboard about the variation of OCV with ampere-hour (Ah). To guarantee high reliability, a series of constraints have been implemented.

Thepotential drop across the resistance thus obtained is compounded with the measured terminal voltage to predict the Open Circuit Voltage (OCV) of the battery. The tabulated OCV and State of Charge (SoC) values are fed into a Deep Neural Network model in MATLAB/Simulink to establish a relationship between the SOC and OCV.

The battery open-circuit voltage is closely related to SOC and can often be used for SOC estimation, but an accurate and fast method for obtaining the OCV is difficult to achieve. For the battery SOC and capacity estimation, this paper proposes a fast prediction method of OCV.
