2.Continuously output of battery's current need to be bigger than the ESC's. Working voltage of the motor is decided by the ESC, whilst the voltage of ESC is decided by the output of batteries. Hence the total voltage of batteries must be equal or less than the maximum voltage of motor.
The results show that the peak current of the battery module ESC is close to that of a single cell ESC, however, its peak temperature and released capacity during ESC process are much lower, which are only 79 % and 57 % of that of a single cell ESC, respectively.
At the initiation of the ESC, the module current surges to over 600 A. The voltage of Group 8 and 9 modules plummet to 0.75 V and 0.30 V, respectively. Similar to single cell short-circuit behavior, the modules exhibit polarization and plateau stages during the short-circuit process.
The obtained ESC fault characteristics provide the differentiation of ESCs from other types of battery faults. This research highlights the differences in ESC behavior between individual cells and series-parallel modules, revealing that the weakest cell in a module often determines the duration and severity of an ESC event.
Working voltage of the motor is decided by the ESC, whilst the voltage of ESC is decided by the output of batteries. Hence the total voltage of batteries must be equal or less than the maximum voltage of motor. Maximum voltage of ESC should not be higher than what the motor can suffer. Current in ESC is larger than motor.
It may draw up to ~5 times higher current at startup or when a load is initially applied, but ESCs are usually rated to handle these momentary current surges. The ESC should always be rated to handle whatever current the motor draws at full throttle (100% PWM).
Key Details of Electronic Speed Controllers
A common question received about brushless DC motor (BLDC) electronic speed controllers (ESCs) is the difference between bus current and phase current. Bus current is the current that is supplied to the ESC from a battery or power supply.

Relationship between Motor, Propeller, ESC and Battery
If battery operates under the maximum current, the life of battery will be shortening. Propeller: For propeller, take 1045 as an example, "10" means the diameter and "45" means the pitch. Larger propeller causes larger thrust force and therefore draws higher current. ESC: The ESC have the specification of current, for example ...

Phase current VS Battery current...
The relationship between actual battery current and actual phase current is not fixed, it is also constantly changing according to riding conditions.
