Despite that, many questions remain to be answered about the mini-channel liquid cooling systems of large-sized batteries, such as estimating its cooling feasibility and capability for the battery packs, and offering new optimization approaches from the aspect of coolant allocation.
Upgrading the energy density of lithium-ion batteries is restricted by the thermal management technology of battery packs. In order to improve the battery energy density, this paper recommends an F2-type liquid cooling system with an M mode arrangement of cooling plates, which can fully adapt to 1C battery charge–discharge conditions.
Of the several types of batteries, lithium-ion is a type of battery that is generally used in electric vehicles. When an electric vehicle operates, the battery will produce heat, when the battery temperature is high, this can result in the performance of the battery decreasing and can even be exploded.
Based on our comprehensive review, we have outlined the prospective applications of optimized liquid-cooled Battery Thermal Management Systems (BTMS) in future lithium-ion batteries. This encompasses advancements in cooling liquid selection, system design, and integration of novel materials and technologies.
It is thus recommended as the best cooling system in this work. The F2-LCS fully meets the temperature requirements of the battery module at a charge and discharge condition of 1C, while the temperature difference between batteries should be reduced in 2C discharge conditions.
An excessively high temperature will have a great impact on battery safety. In this paper, a liquid cooling system for the battery module using a cooling plate as heat dissipation component is designed. The heat dissipation performance of the liquid cooling system was optimized by using response-surface methodology.
