Enabling battery swap stations (BSSs) clusters to participate in the frequency regulation (FR) service can make full use of idle batteries to gain revenue, thereby improving the operating economy of BSSs and promoting the popularization of battery swapping mode [ 2, 3 ].
This Battery Swapping Station is considered fast and efficient when compared to other types of charging stations. This reduces battery charging and improves battery life. The battery can be charged in off-demand hours and injected into the power grid during demand hours for additional revenue generation.
Although the battery swapping station does not produce power at hours 6 and 7, the consumed power by the station is properly regulated and reduced close to zero. In order to attain optimal operation in the Battery Swapping Stations, many optimization techniques are proposed in [27, 28]. By adopting the BST, the life of the battery packs will increase due to slow charging and it generates the revenue to fleet owners in longer run.
Hence, the battery swapping station (BSS) model has been proposed as an alternative method. Recently, researchers have studied the BSS approach by proposing various operation systems and optimization methods, and BSS service operators have successfully implemented swapping at commercial and private stations.
In order to verify the effectiveness of the strategy, six BSSs established by a BSS operator are simulated and analyzed. The relevant parameter settings are shown in Table 2. Each BSS is located in different locations in the service area, so the battery swap demand of each station is different.
