It shows that batteries, as the power source of NEVs, will be increasingly important.
And its prominence in the global battery industry will remain strong in the 2020s: at the end of 2019, it accounted for 69.3% of the global production capacity announced for 2029. Meanwhile, US interest for batteries started late. The country waited until 2009 for a massive investment programme in energy storage technologies.
Empirically, we study the new energy vehicle battery (NEVB) industry in China since the early 2000s. In the case of China's NEVB industry, an increasingly strong and complicated coevolutionary relationship between the focal TIS and relevant policies at different levels of abstraction can be observed.
Other global participants included Panasonic from Japan and the South Korean company LG. Together, they revealed global companies' desire to work with China in this particular battery industry. China is indeed competitive in the world's new energy and power battery industries.
The battery industry is market-driven, and the lack of understanding of the market demand can only cause these small and medium-sized power battery enterprises to suffer a fatal blow and withdraw from the market. At the same time, the existence of these enterprises also disrupts the market order of the entire battery industry .
The development of the battery industry is crucial to the development of the whole NEV industry, and many countries have listed battery technologies as key targets for support at a national strategic level, which means that the NEV battery industry as a new industry has stepped on the stage of the development of this era. .
