For discussing the voltage fault of battery pack, the voltage of battery pack and single battery should be discussed respectively. Due to the individual differences in the production and application of batteries, the total voltage of battery pack may be in a reasonable range, while the voltage of a single battery is abnormal.
However, the connection between cells to form a battery pack brings potential risks [3, 4]. Various faults may occur at each cell or the associated accessories in battery pack due to the natural aging and various (including mechanical, electrical, and thermal) abuse manoeuvres in actual usage of EVs [5 - 7].
To effective and accurate identification of failures for the battery, Schmid et al. (2021) developed a fault diagnosis method by using the fuzzy clustering algorithm. In this algorithm, the switches of reconfigurable battery system were used to isolate the fault of the electric vehicles.
Based on the voltage data, this paper develops a fault warning algorithm for electric vehicle lithium-ion battery packs based on K-means and the Fréchet algorithm. And the actual collected EV driving data are used to verify. First, due to the noise of the EV data collected in actual operation, it will affect the accuracy of the diagnosis algorithm.
Electrical fault The electrical fault in the battery system is one of the most dangerous fault types. Meanwhile, it is the most common fault. The electrical fault mainly includes ISC fault, ESC fault, over-charge/over-discharge fault, insulation fault, sensor fault, communication fault, and contactor fault.
So, the main basis of inconsistent fault diagnosis of the power battery unit is the voltage range of the power battery pack. To further diagnose and locate the poor consistency monomer, we first need to know the differential voltage threshold for fault determination.
