Design and Analysis of Steel Support Structures Used in Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Panels (SPs): A Case Study in Turkey As one of the most common and imperative contributing factors to clean energy aspect, solar energy takes a significant role around the whole world.
In the present work, a solar panel supporting structure is designed to take rotational loads for 90 0 for safe operation. So the design should consider the loads coming on the structure for 90 0 rotation along with inertia effect of the rotating members.
Because the support structure of the tracking photovoltaic support system has a long extension length and the components are D-shaped hollow steel pipes, the overall stiffness of the structure was found to be low, and the first three natural frequencies were between 2.934 and 4.921.
In order to respond to the national goal of “carbon neutralization” and make more rational and effective use of photovoltaic resources, combined with the actual photovoltaic substation project, a fixed adjustable photovoltaic support structure design is designed.
A fixed system that is mounted to a certain position as shown in Figure 1. The orientation of the solar panel array is adapted to the installation site so that the efficiency of the system is optimized. An adjustable system that features mechanisms to enable it to be automatically rotated around 2 axes as shown in Figure 2.
