This research project focuses on the development of a Solar Charging Station (SCS) tailored specifically for EVs. The primary objective is to design an efficient and environmentally sustainable charging system that utilizes solar energy as its primary power source. The SCS integrates state- of -the-art photovoltaic panels, energy EVs.
A solar-driven and hydrogen-integrated charging station are possible to improve the efficiency of the existing solar-enabled BEV CS. Solar energy has been utilised for a level-2 BEV CS, which is controlled by a Type-1 vehicle connector.
The current technical limitations of solar energy-powered industrial BEV charging stations include the intermittency of solar energy with the needs of energy storage and the issues of carbon emission and maintenance of solar arrays.
There are generally two types of solar charging stations for BEV, which consist of on-grid BEV CS and off-grid BEV CS. As the name suggests, on-grid means the BEV CS is connected to the grid to support the solar power system. If there is excessive generated electricity, the user can sell back the electricity to the utility company.

Supercapacitor or ultracapacitor is also another development aspect to be implemented alongside ESS as a hybrid solution for the improvement of solar vehicles .
