Battery pack bidirectional balancing principle

This paper proposes a novel active cell balancer that supports bidirectional cell balancing operation with very high efficiency. The active cell balancer is designed using MATLAB/Simulink for a commercially available 14S10P 48V/32Ah battery pack. An overall efficiency of 96.8% is achieved during the cell balancing operation.
