The contactor is one of the key components in an AC charging station and is critical for safety and function. It must carry the operating current and switch reliably, even under the influence of environmental conditions. This includes outdoor use and sunlight, which can raise the temperature inside the charging station.
This DC charging pile and its control technology provide some technical guarantee for the application of new energy electric vehicles. In the future, the DC charging piles with higher power level, high frequency, high eficiency, and high redundancy features will be studied.
The main components of the charging pile include: controller, man–machine components, lightning protector, contactor, fuse, socket, charging cable, DC charging vehicle plug, emergency stop button, pile, etc. As shown in Fig. 12a.
Simulation waveforms of a new energy electric vehicle charging pile composed of four charging units Figure 8 shows the waveforms of a DC converter composed of three interleaved circuits. The reference current of each circuit is 8.33A, and the reference current of each DC converter is 25A, so the total charging current is 100A.
