This circuit prevents over-discharge of a lead-acid battery by opening a relay contact when the voltage drops to a predetermined voltage (lower voltage threshold). When the battery is recharged to a second predetermined higher voltage (upper voltage threshold), the relay contact automatically re-closes and power again flows to the load.
Relay controller use 12V 3A large current regulator from 8S battery pack. It can drive larger current mechanical and state solid relays. If using external adapter, the BMS can support 2S-8S battery, the external voltage range is 15-30V. The BMS uses one Current Shunt to detect Charge & Discharge current per battery pack.
Adding two common components reduces the relay coil voltage and current to 70%. Also, when the relay drops out, the control circuit current drops to about 4mA thus minimizing battery drain. The occasion of this circuit If this circuit appears similar to previously posted circuits, you are observing correctly.
When the battery is recharged to a second predetermined higher voltage (upper voltage threshold), the relay contact automatically re-closes and power again flows to the load. Both lower and upper voltage thresholds are independently adjustable to the desired voltages.
Relays are electromechanical devices with certain challenges in their application. One major challenge is the arcing between two switch contacts, an electric discharge caused by the voltage across them and sustained by the current running through them.
The discharge LED will turn on and indicate when the circuit is discharging the battery. It will turn off when the discharge is complete. It is not really necessary to have the second LED. Bearing that in mind, you can have the relay disconnect the battery completely at the end of the cycle. This will solve your other problems.

Why is my car''s battery draining and ways to prevent it 2025
There are many causes for battery drain. Your car''s battery could lose charge if the car is kept parked for too long. This is true for all cars, whether they are petrol, diesel, hybrid or electric. Even when your car isn''t being used, many features are running in the background – the security alarm, on-board computers, the clock, power doors, power locks, and presets like seat positions ...

AQ-A SSR (PhotoMOS), HE-V relay, and 10A and 20A types of EP relays are used for preventing an inrush current into capacitors when charging. We recommend solid state relays for miniaturization and HE-V relay and 10A and 20A types of EP relays for high voltages.
11. DVCC
Discharge current limit (DCL): the maximum discharge current as requested by the battery. For all three parameters, some types of batteries transmit dynamic values. For example they determine the maximum charge voltage based on cell voltages, state of charge, or for example temperature.
