There has been a great development in micro supercapacitors (MSCs) as on-chip energy storages over the past decade , , , . However, the MSCs perform poorly as filtering capacitors because the capacitance of supercapacitor drops rapidly under alternating current (AC) , .
In electrochemical capacitors, the device performances (capacitance, energy, and power) are reported in F g –1, Wh kg –1, and W kg –1, taking into account electrode materials with a high mass loading (>10 mg cm –2) and thickness (>100 μm).
Through optimizing the flake size, thickness of the electrodes, and spacing between the electrode fingers, the as-prepared MSC delivered a volumetric capacitance of 30 F cm −3 at 120 Hz and had a relaxation time constant of τ 0 = 0.45 ms, which was better than electrolytic capacitors (τ 0 = 0.8 ms).
With the rapid development of the electronics industry, capacitors have undergone an evolution from relatively primitive forms such as air-dielectric capacitors, mica-dielectric capacitors, and paper-dielectric capacitors to ceramic-dielectric capacitors and electrolytic capacitors .

Capacitor and Capacitance
A variable capacitor is a capacitor whose capacitance can be varied to a certain range of values based on necessity. The two plates of the variable capacitor are made of metals where one of the plates is fixed, and the other is movable. Their main function is to fix the resonant frequency in the LC circuit. There are two types of variable frequency and they are,

Capacitance and Charge on a Capacitors Plates
We have said previously that the capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor is proportional to the surface area A and inversely proportional to the distance, d between the two plates and this is true for dielectric medium of air. However, the capacitance value of a capacitor can be increased by inserting a solid medium in between the conductive plates which has a dielectric constant …
