MURUJUGA, October 10, 2024 – CB&I has won a contract to provide EPC for ammonia storage facilities in Australia from the Saipem-Clough joint venture, parent company McDermott announced on Thursday. Works will take place at the Perdaman Chemicals and Fertilisers Urea Plant on the Burrup Peninsula in Western Australia.
According to TECO Chairman Sophia Chiu, the Longtan UHV substation energy storage system is a major national construction project. TECO won the EPC contract mainly due to its capacity and experience to build large-scale energy storage systems.
The project attracted competition from more than 10 top general contractors in the energy storage field including the United States, South Korea, Spain, etc. Pinggao Group finally won the bid evaluation results of the first technical bid and commercial bid, and won the South African National Power Company and the World Bank. Approved.
This project is the first international public bidding electrochemical energy storage EPC project of the South African National Power Company. The source of funds is the World Bank loan. The project is located in the Matzkama area of the Western Cape, South Africa.
