Internal operating constraints such as temperature, voltage, and current are monitored and controlled by the BMS when the battery is being charged and drained. To achieve a better performance, the BMS technically determines the SoC and SoH of the battery.
The battery management system (BMS) is composed of hardware and software parts, which monitor the power battery by collecting voltage, current, temperature, and other data, and then the electronic control unit analyzes and issues control commands to monitor and manage the state of each battery in the battery pack.
The accumulation of errors in the manufacturing process can result in performance variations between battery cells and even significant differences among products of the same batch and type (i.e., cell inconsistencies in the battery module) .
